So, did I change my life in 7 days?


In a word, nope! Not helped by the fact that I only managed it to day three of my Paul McKenna book.

The intention was there. For three days I listened to the mind programming CD first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I imagined my authentic self. Iwatched the DVD. I carried out the exercises in the book. And then, well, I don’t know if it was having an NLP savvy Sister-in-Law which made me see through some of his ‘positive messaging’ and, well, find it a little too obvious. Or, if it was just a time thing. Granted I’m not working at the moment and finding time for yourself should be of utmost importance. But there is a limit to how much time you can spend imagining how your life could be before you just want to get on with, well, living that life, rather than just planning it.

Since then the tomes of Mr McKenna have been gathering dust on the coffee table whilst I’ve been applying for jobs, attending interviews and, as my Mom would say… “getting on with it”.

Verdict: Good for an initial kick up the arse. But once it’s done that you might not need to complete the full course. Guess it depends how big a kick you need in the first place!
